Delivery / Collection Options

Option 1: Free Postage until 14 December

FREE postage for orders over $70 placed on or before 14 December 2020.

Payment is required at the time your order is placed.

Orders placed after 14 December 2020 can still be posted but will attract a postage fee of $9.50 for orders under $100 and $15 for orders over $100.

Option 2: Click and Collect from Lamont in Hallam

Click and Collect orders are to be placed online for collection from the Lamont Office at 6 Technology Circuit, Hallam during our opening hours. See the Lamont website for current opening hours.

  • You will receive a text message with collection instructions once your order is ready to be picked up.

  • Payment is required at the time your order is placed.

If you wish to collect from our office during January you will need to place a Click and Collect order online. There are no over the counter sales during January – all items mustbe pre-ordered via Click and Collect. You will receive a text message once it is packed and ready for collection.

School Collection: Please note that due to COVID-19 the school has decided that there will not be a collection day at school for the 2020/2021 Back to School season.
If you wish to collect your order, please place a Click and Collect order for collection from Lamont in Hallam.

CSEF – 2021

If you have a current Health Care Card or Pension Card, you may be eligible for the Camps/Sport/Excursions Fund (CSEF) payment. This funding will be used towards excursions, camps and sporting activities run through the College.

If you applied for the CSEF at your child’s school in 2020, you do not need to complete an application form in 2020 unless there has been a change in your family circumstances. Your child’s school will apply for the CSEF on your behalf.

You will only need to submit an application form in 2020 if any of the following changes have occurred:

  • new student enrolments (all year 7 students): your child has started or changed schools in 2020;  or you did not apply at the same school in 2020;   or
  • changed family circumstances such as a change of custody, change of name, concession card number, or new siblings commencing at the school in 2021.

Schools are able to accept and process applications up until the end of term two each year. CSEF payments are made to schools from March onwards each year. Application forms are available, click on tab to access.  Please complete and return this form to us along with a copy of your concession card. Payment is $225 per student for all students in all year levels.

MUSIC PROGRAM

Instrumental Music

Mount Erin Secondary College offers a comprehensive instrumental and classroom music program which develops and enhances all students’ musical abilities through performances and extending their theory skills.

The College offers individual and small group lessons on: Brass, Woodwind, String, Guitar, Percussion, keyboard and Voice. We encourage involvement in a range of ensembles such as: The College Choir “Take Note”, Rock bands, and instrumental ensembles.

There is other fantastic performance opportunities including the College Production, school concerts, Battle of the Bands competition, choir competitions, and numerous community events. We teach students skills in songwriting and provide them with the latest software and music technology.

This extensive instrumental/classroom music program prepares all students for VCE Music Performance Group/Solo and Music Investigation where the students have achieved outstanding results.

CALCULATOR INFORMATION

If you wish to purchase a scientific calculator, please download this form and return to the Administration Office, along with your payment.

Mount Erin College has sourced these calculators as an alternative option for parents to take up. Whilst it is not compulsory to purchase through the College, students are required to have their own scientific calculator. The College will not provide students with these. Orders close Friday, 20th November 2020.

Students in Years 7 to 10 do not need to purchase a Graphic Calculator.

College Bus Program

College Bus Program

The College is well serviced by public transport and the College Bus Program operates buses through the surrounding areas. The College Bus Program assists parents by transporting students to College. Categories of eligibility determine whether a student travels at no cost or travels upon the payment of a fare. Students wishing to access a seat on a bus must complete an application form and parents/guardians must agree to the conditions of travel including, if applicable, the payment of a  fare.  Refer to Mount Erin College Bus Information Kit for details on eligibility and bus routes available.

Important Information regarding the Pearcedale Charter Bus

There are a number of students who reside in the Pearcedale area that are ineligible for free bus travel, as they are not attending their closest government secondary school and do not meet any of the Exemption Criteria.

The College has arranged to Charter a Bus that enables ineligible students to travel to Pearcedale in the afternoon.  There is a charge per term, payable in advance, to travel on the Pearcedale Charter Bus.  Once payment has been received students are issued with a Bus Pass for that term.

The College subsidises the cost of the Pearcedale Charter Bus to make it affordable for families. We will continue to provide this Service whilst there is sufficient demand.

1:1 Computer Program

1:1 Laptop Program

Mount Erin College is committed to providing students with rich and engaging learning experiences that harness the power of learning technologies. Advances in technology have provided new opportunities to connect, to show understanding, to think creatively, to problem solve and to work collaboratively. We believe that students accessing technology through a 1:1 program positively engage them in these learning opportunities and support improved learning outcomes.

Our machines have been rigorously school tested and have been approved by our college board. Modifications have been made to increase the flexibility of computer function and costs for our families. More information can be found in the 1:1 laptop program booklet below or by contacting our Administration Office.

Whilst our notebook program is aimed at incoming Year 7 students, it is available to all students and will be open throughout the school year.

Important Changes to the Program for 2021

2020 has been a very challenging year for everyone. COVID has had a large impact on how we’ve had to operate as a school and has really revolutionised the way we’ve had to deliver content to students.

We’ve had to make changes to the program to ensure that it can proceed in a safe, but efficient manner.

In previous years, the devices would be delivered directly to the school – The school technicians would setup/image each device then we would arrange for collection on Orientation Day in December. (or handed directly to the student if they are current student)

This year we’ve had to make other arrangements as we cannot host a collection day for the students.

To facilitate this we have changed our procedure to have EduNet image the devices and arrange delivery via AusPost directly to you.

While this process will be new to us, EduNet has had several schools operate this way in previous years and can ensure a smooth delivery.

The machines will arrive to you pre-imaged but not connected to the college domain. This connection will take place during the first day at the College. (or as early as we can organise – We will work with the Year 7 team to make sure this happens as priority but not being disruptive to the students learning.)

This connection will set up a new login profile for your student, that will use their MEC username and password to access.
(These login details will be provided to the students at the time)

You will be given access to the device via a temporary local profile so you can use the machine when you get it, but once the connection to the MEC domain takes place this profile will be disabled.

EduNet

Edunet is our preferred partner for 2021. Mount Erin College has partnered with EduNet for the last 6 years to supply notebooks towards our 1:1 notebook program. We have found them to be a reliable and reputable company trusted by schools over Victoria.

EduNet is a local education supplier based in Mornington and is committed to providing good quality student notebooks at affordable prices. We support our hardware at every stage of the process and pride ourselves on high quality service.

Important Dates:

  • Orders that are placed by the end of October (Friday, 30th October 2020)
    Are expected to be delivered in December for a Pre-Christmas delivery.*

  • Orders that are placed by the end of November (Friday, 27th November 2020)
    Are expected to be delivered by Day 1, Term 1 2021.

Please Note: EduNet has let us know that lead times may be subject to change due to slowing of the supply chain. While we can expect delivery pre-christmas – EduNet is unable to guarantee this delivery window once stock runs out. 

BYOD

Mount Erin College is committed to providing a wider access to valuable resources & learning opportunities via its current network. Part of this is the development of our BYOD program – providing access to self serve apps and online resources.

We are only able to provide limited support to BYO devices, assisting students to connect to the College wireless network with their BYO device.

Uniform – 2021

Rationale:

A uniform dress code reinforces in students a pride in their own appearance, instils recognition of themselves as an integral part of the school community, and assists in developing pride in representing their school. Issues of equality, health and safety, and expense are also factors that contribute to the establishment of the Dress Code.

Aims:

  • To promote equality amongst all students.
  • To further develop a sense of pride in, and identification with our school.
  • To provide durable clothing that is cost effective and practical for our school environment.
  • To maintain and enhance the positive image of the school in the community.
