College bus program
Please note that in 2025 due to demand on the buses we will do our best to allocate Mount Erin College students a place on our school buses based on the closest available bus route and stop to their main place of residence.
However, as demand for the buses has increased recently and keeping in mind that 3 of our bus services (Pearcedale 420, Tyabb 1229 and Hastings 410) are shared with Somerville Secondary College we will assess each bus application as it is submitted and determine the student’s eligibility in accordance with the Department of Education’s School Bus Program Eligibility Guide
In addition to the 3 shared buses with Somerville Secondary College, MEC subsidises two additional Charter buses to Pearcedale and Botanic Ridge however these operate in the afternoons only.
Some Public Transport Victoria (PTV) School Special buses, as listed in this booklet, are also available with the use of a MYKI to transport students to and from MEC.
When submitting a bus application form for one of the school bus services we kindly ask that you apply based on genuine need, and please advise if travel is required in both the morning and afternoon and on which weekdays.
Arrangements for travel to and from parent/carers workplaces will only be granted subject to availability, and when living arrangements are split between two households, we will determine a seat based in the student’s primary place of address.
As much as we would like to accommodate all requests for travel via the school bus services to and from school, we must prioritise applications based on eligibility first. If we cannot offer your child a place on their preferred bus initially, they will be waitlisted and granted a seat as soon as one becomes available.
