As Part of our Senior VCAL community project, we have chosen to support the Salvation Army and Pinchapoo organisation. As a team, we have brainstormed ideas and ways to support homeless and disadvantaged men, women and children in our communities. We have discussed all options and have chosen to do both a clothing hall and a toiletries collection in order to reach out to people in need and make even the slightest impact weather it would be a new jumper or a toothbrush.

In addition to the clothing hall, we are collecting toiletries in order to support Pinchapoo, an organisation that collects the small toiletries you find in hotel bathrooms, and are proudly responsible for creating a cheeky hotel toiletry ‘pinching’ movement 10 years ago…. but for a good reason! We hope both students and local community choose to contribute and help the disadvantaged in our community, whether it be a bar of soap or even the miniature shampoos you find in hotel bathrooms.
In order to achieve this goal, we are collecting good quality items of clothing that you no longer wear such as; shirts, jumpers and pants. As summer is coming around fast what better way to clean out your overflowing wardrobes but also support people in need. We are aiming for all students to donate at least three items of clothing and to place them in donation boxes, which will be located around the school. The items of clothing we collect as a whole will be donated to Project Hope in Doveton.
We urge everyone to contribute to both the Salvation Army and pinchapoo as we are supporting the needs of homeless and disadvantaged men women and children in our communities. Collection point will be scattered around the college easily accessible for both students and community.
