“Life at Mount Erin was a fairytale,” he recalled. “I had it easy, lots of kids wanted to be my friend.”

This author remembers senior students always taking care of Sam especially in the busy corridors at the end of lessons. “Staff and students were always willing to help me out.”

Sam’s favourite aspect of Mount Erin was the MESEM leadership program. A program run by the students, for the students. Lunchtime sporting and singing activities, school assemblies, school fundraisers, charitable events among other initiatives were organised during Sam’s tenure by Mr. Bernard Silva.

“I loved it,” Sam said of his time in MESEM. “The leadership opportunities, teaching me how to become organised and how to overcome challenges.” “Silva was a great teacher and someone I still try to catch up with when I return home.” “MESEM was a huge part of my school life and has helped me become the person I am today.”

Sam’s acting career began on the soap ‘Neighbours’ before making the move to Hollywood to star in the main cast of ‘The Greatest Showman’. “I had been dreaming of working alongside Hugh Jackman since I was 8 years old,” Sam stated. “It was an absolute dream and honour. “He has always been my favourite actor”.

Sam’s big break has enabled him to mix it with Hollywood’s elite, walk the red carpet and create a network to enable him to land more roles.

Sam is working hard auditioning for new roles and has a number of projects in the pipeline.

2021 will see the release of an autobiography which he is excited about. A book tour including Mount Erin College is planned.

He is using his time to build his social media presence and is spreading the word regarding rare genetic disorders to help secure funding to aid others.
