YEAR 9

In addition to core and an extensive range of elective subjects, The Year 9 Centre challenges students with inquiry based learning. Evidence globally has shown that this structure is the most appropriate for this developmental stage, allowing students to explore areas they are interested in, to utilise their strengths, develop excellence in research skills, identify and improve on weaknesses, and learn explicit academic and social competencies necessary for senior school and future employment.

Personalised learning with a key focus on intensive literacy and numeracy skills, form the foundations for the program. With increased freedom of choice, there is a clear expectation that both student and teacher know what the student needs to develop and achieve in their learning and explicit teaching is provided to ensure that they achieve their desired learning goals. Projects allow students to incorporate their major strengths and interests. Year 9 curriculum provides a variety of elective choices across all areas of study.
